Gilded Finishes

Faeger offers a wide range of gilded surface finishes. Through the application of precious metal, such as gold and silver to surfaces, any space can have your ideal and beautiful finish.

Both water gilding as well as oil or acrylic based gilding are available to create your bespoke finish. Oil and acrylic based transfer gilding uses an adhesive to apply the metal leaf to smooth surface features to create a warmer, matt finish. This can be done on interior or exterior structural features, or furniture.

Water gilding involves applying a gelatine solution to a smooth surface and applying the metal leaf, which is spread tight across the surface and polished. This can also be carried out on glass to create Verre Eglomisé works.

The gilding can be distressed, glazed or patinated to achieve a range of finished results.
